Aerodrome: Hydroquent
Status: OK
Aircraft status: OK. Good to go for nex mission.

Schwarm 2 flown by Stig (leading), Kerot and Zalzam.

We made a good start, flew to French Point. Spins a few laps there to get some height, then fly towards Boulogne and meet the bombers. We quickly got views on the formation of bombers. We received orders to put us on the right side of the bomber formation. We followed our formation to the target at an altitude of 5000 m (which target is still a secret).
The trip went calmly and quietly back to the home base, where we landed without any problems.

Another day on the job.
The beauty of today's flight, was that everyone came home unharmed.

Over and out

Flew as part of the 1st Schwarm with Esri, Venom and led by Atreides.

After a ground incident myself and Esri took off after the rest of the Staffel and formed up with the others over the airfield at 2k, we then met with the bombers west of the coast - we took position to the right and high of the force attacking Hawkinge.

After enemy aircraft were spotted we engaged and mixed with a number of Spitfires at equal height, a difficult fight to gain any advantage in, we danced with them for a bit, getting pop shots in where possible and taking evasive action when needed.

As the bombers reached their targets and turned home the call came to RTB, we covered any bombers that we could see coming back across the channel before forming up again and landing in short order, no losses reported for our Staffel.

Lead 2. schwarm this mission, bomber escort to Lympne / Hawkinge. Enemy fighters were called out over St. Mary's bay. I was seperated from KerOth and Zalsam after we engaged. Before I could regroup with them I spotted several contacts turning on my six, I identified the nearest one as a Spitfire, whence I extended in a shallow dive towards Cap Gris Nez. Nearing the French coast and satisfied that I was not pursued, I climbed back to 5000 m and headed for Dover, where I had heard my schwarm was. En route the order to RTB came, and with my schwarm on their way back, I turned for France once more. All members of the schwarm returned safely.

Took off with the 2nd Swarm with 4 staffel and formed up as Hypoxia's Katschmarek. We formed up with the bomber formations and was assigned to the left wing of the bombers.
It didn't take long for call outs of enemy fighters to start and just as Hypoxia was rolling my aircraft locked up. (Frames frozen for about 1.5 seconds). After recovering I had lost hypoxia and could not find him. I did manage to clear the six of a friendly but can confirm no hits.
On the call to RTB I turned and started to form up on a flight of 5 aircraft when about mid channel the formation pulled up and left and passed my 9 o'clock which is when I realized they were spitfires and suddenly found myself with 5 spits behind me. I'm not sure if all turned to my six or just one but after taking hits to my radiator my engine died just north of French point. I managed to glide it into marque east and safely belly land the damaged aircraft.

Took off from Marquise West leading schwarm 2 with Tac and Vas….and guest British pilot take off and form up went OK. Rendezvoused with the bombers. Patrolled to the left and high of the bombers until Pitti called enemy formation. Accelerated with Tac into the fight. Tac system froze and we got separated. Stayed high and above the fight looking for an opportunity. Rolled in on a Hurricane and planted canon shell s at his right wing root and watched the wing flutter bye. Kill confirmed by Pitti. Got some more hits later on a Spitfire chasing a 109. RTB over the channel looking to rejoin with TAC who was getting chased by Spitfires. Victory roll over Marquise West and landed without a scratch.

Talent evening in the mess is always a welcome relief for the war weary kameraden of JG26. The men take turns in dress and drag, while our very own Staffelkapitan treats us to a haunting rendition of Lili Marlene on his rare african nose flute. Of course Feldwebel Helga is our comedy relief, with many jokes for our delictation. "Knock, knock. Who's there? The police. I'm afraid there's been an accident, Your husband is in hospital!" Hahahah! German humour is just Hitlerious. We end the evening with a good old leg slap and a final crazy thought from Helga.. "Goodnight gentlemen, and dont worry! Our glorious Fuhrer will soon bore of the tommies. Next year we will all be in Russia freezing our Nüsse off!"

Marquise East Airfield: Monday 12th August, 1940, 1705hrs

Today, we begin our second vital mission to hit the obstinate tommies in their homeland. We are to escort the brave bombers of II/KG76 targeting Hawkinge and Lympne.

After takeoff from our airbase at Hydrequent, we formed up with the rest of 5 Staffel and began close escort on the high right of the formation. Soon, at about 5k, we spotted multiple contacts heading for the bombers. Our two Rotte's split up, with Flyby and Bubi providing high cover as Lee and I headed towards the Hurricanes slightly below us. Keeping as tight as I could on Lee's wing, we swing in and Lee got good hits on the tommie. I dont think he will make it home. As we swoop back up I notice an RAF plane on a head on course with me. Closing fast, I wait until the tommie fills my sights and let him have both 20mm cannon. My plane shakes violently with the recoil, the smoke from the Minengeschoss obscuring my view and I just manage to lift my 109 above him as he goes under me at tremendous speed. I bank my 109 hard right and watch him heading down towards the sea, pretty sure that he is done for, I begin a steep climb.

Having lost Lee in melee, I come across more Spits and Hurricanes and begin taking deflection shots when I can. Before long, and low on ammunition, we get the call over the radio to RTB. Heading for French point, our schwarm rendezvous in good spirits. We hear that our whole Staffel has lost only 1 pilot today while givng the tommies a bloody nose, a fantastic achievement.

Horrido!

I had been telling Hitler for over a year, since my first flight in an Me-262, that only Focke Wulf Fw-190 fighter production should continue in conventional aircraft, to discontinue the Me-109, which was outdated, and to focus on building a massive jet-fighter force. - Galland
Any idiot could fly a Spitfire, but it took a lot of training to fly a 109. - Gerald Stapleton

Todays mission was quite uneventfull for swarm 2 with Stig Zalzam and me.

We cirkled the airfield until we were at a good altitude. We found the bombers and followed them, suddenly there were plane EVERYWHERE, who knows if they were friendly or not but it seemed nice and calm and then all of the sudden i figure out im not following my leader enymore...

Did somehow managde to find Zalzam in the midle of this caos, and we flew about for a bit not finding anything usefull to shoot at so we headed home.

We landed safely though on the wrong airfield but come on our leader could have died for all we knew (aparantly he landed 2-5 mins right after us on the right airfield 200m away from us!).

Escorting bombers of II./KG76 to their attack on Hawkinge and Lympne airfields.

At 1723 we took of from Marquise East and headed out westward to the channel. I was flying together with the 4th Staffel.
We meet up with the bombers, which were on a north course from Dieppe, 15km out on the sea from Bolugne, at 1738.

The bobmers splitted into two groups, one for each airfield. When passing Dungeness I spotted an enemy squadron at same altitude directly in front of us heading towards us. I gave orders to climbed above them and then follow them in their dives down on the bombers. It were Hurricanes and the clock showed 1745. I managed to damage 3 Hurricanes until the bombers reached their targets. I ripped part of two of them and the third was streaming liquid. I couldn't see if they are going down or not but at least I made them to break of their attacks our bombers.

After dropping the bombs the bombers turned and headed back towards France. I witnessed a victory by Unteroffizier Hypoxia over the cast between Hawkinge and Dover where he ripped the right wing of a Hurricane apart. I also damaged two more Hurricanes.

The enemy stopped their attacks when we reached the middle of the channel between Hawkinge and Cap Gris Nez.
At 1819, after circling our airfield for about 15 minutes to watch everyone's landings, I landed myself.
My 109 did not receive any damage during the mission.
